powerchem offers a variety of equipment cleaning services from closed loop systems in nuclear power plants to glass-lined reactor jackets used in pharmaceutical manufacturing. These services also include Ferro quest closed loop cleaning programs, on-line condenser cleaning programs for power generation facilities and membrane cleaning services for membrane separation applications. • Membrane Regeneration Membrane regeneration is a cost effective alternative to membrane replacement. • Membrane Autopsy Scientists in this lab can simulate your plant's system to analyze resin, and they also conduct membrane autopsies when necessary.
Membrane Regeneration Membrane Regeneration Process can clean even the most severly fouled membrane elements. This off-line process results in a dramatic improvement in flow rate, rejection rate and pressure differential and is far less expensive than membrane replacement. The POWERCHEM Membrane Regeneration Process: • Improves membrane performance • Extends membrane life • Minimizes system downtime • Increases time between cleanings • Maximizes productivity Reduces or eliminates chemical handling.
Membrane Autopsy Element autopsies are recommended when all nondestructive testing procedures and evaluations have failed to reveal the cause of reduced RO performance. Our staff establishes a case history of the system from which the element was removed, weighs the element, performs a visual inspection, and performs a wet test, internal evaluation and foulant analysis when indicated. The analysis includes determination of Loss of Ignition (LOI). If LOI is greater than 35%, infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) helps determine organic foulants while x-ray fluorescence (XRF) helps determine inorganic foulants. Tests are also performed to pinpoint any microbiological problems as well as organically-bound chlorine. |
